FABULOUS Fans
Today in the mail I just got in our new rack cards! They are pretty darn cute if I do say so myself (I designed them). You got to love Vista Print! I just ordered 50 because I wanted to test the waters first. I WILL be ordering more. (If anyone has a home for these at their store fronts/business let me know!)
I absolutely love running my small business. The word had spread to family now, thanks to my wonderful Aunt, at our family reunion, about my boutique! Reunion=Oregon...Milies=Pennsylvania!! Haha. So my Aunt spread the wonderful news about my new store to all of our distant cousins, friends, family I don't know, and so on!
One thing I learned is that the first year is all about advertising, marketing, networking, and getting known in the community. One thing that I can say is that I am having a blast supporting other work at home mommies by advertising through their blogs and websites! Milies is starting to buzz in more and more local mommies ears and I LOVE it!
I've also met a few wonderful WAHM's on the way AND Milies is attending it's first "Fair" in September. Will you be there? It's the Picnic in the Park event in Central Pennsylvania on September 17th! Come on out and support us small business owners and entrepreneurs! :) (Check out my Facebook page for updates on this event)!

A very DREAMY blanket :)

Fluffy Fridays

Yes, I know, I skipped last week! Sorry. I really did think that I was going to post something. I guess because last weekend was the last weekend my sister was in town we packed a lot of fun filled activities before she flew back to California on Sunday.
I wanted to share with everyone my views on traveling with cloth diapers. With today's ease of cloth diapers it becomes SERIOUSLY easy to cloth diaper on vacation.
What to pack in your LARGEST diaper bag:
Cloth diapers (of course!) - All in Ones )AIO's are much easier to travel with as you don't have to worry about stuffing, folding, etc...
Large Wet Bag
Diaper liners
CD friendly rash cream
Extra inserts
plastic bag (just in case you are in an area where you cannot dump to solids)
Vacations can be done cloth diapering. Two weeks ago we spent two days in Philladelphia, over night, and I didn't have one problem. I think for some it can be intimidating because of the "extra" work involved, but it's worth it!

Cloth Diaper Laundry Day
Most of you probably wonder what to do when it comes to laundering your dirty fluff! It's super easy, and really friends, there is no need for a cloth diaper laundry service. You can save so much money by laundering your own cloth diapers from home. After all, the main reason we cloth diaper is to save money as well as to be green AND maybe ;) because of the ADORABLE colors and prints.
What you will need:
Cloth diaper friendly laundry detergent
Yourself of course :)
Washing Machine
Dryer OR if you want to save even MORE money...a laundry line outside (remember that the sun is a natural stain remover!)
Steps:
1. I would recommend washing no more that a couple dozen diapers together. Remember to use the laundry tabs if using aplix/velcro closure. COLD RINSE cycle (this loosens up all the yuckies)
2. HOT WASH/COLD Rinse: Use the recommended amount of cloth diaper friendly detergent.
3. ONE MORE Cold Rinse
4. LINE Dry covers as they tend to wear more if you dry in the dryer. I put all my inserts in the dryer BUT if it's nice and warm outside my inserts will be outside sunning!
That's it!
Some people ask how to get the poo off of the diaper before washing. Here are some tips:
If you are exclusively breastfeeding there is no need to rinse, srub, swish, etc... the diaper before you put it in the wash machine.
If you are using formula and/or solids you can either buy a diaper sprayer or use the conventional method of using a rubber scrapper (which is what I use) to get the solids off the diaper.
What you will need:
